Why Have a Why?
Knowing My Why Changed My Perspective and My Life
FEAR
Hi Friends 👋!
Today’s newsletter will be my first official post…EVER 🤯. The idea of starting this has been on my mind for a few years now, but the main factor holding me back has been fear.
What will people think of it?
What will people think of me?
Who am I to write about my interests, share experiences, and opinions?
Why do my thoughts matter?
So many questions, all based mostly from fear. All of which have prevented me from taking action to do something like this.
SO WHAT CHANGED? (MOTIVATION)
Last year, my wife and I were blessed to have our first child together. In having our son, there are about a million different emotions and feelings that hit you in an extremely compressed timeline. Although I can clearly remember many of the feelings and experiences nearly a year later, I do wish that I had documented the journey a little better, not just for myself, but for my son, my wife, my family, and for anyone that also may be going through something similar.
My son recently turned 1 (still can't believe it), and I felt it was time to start a new journey, or chapter one may say, in creating my own little space in the big world of the internet. Not to get all mushy and gushy, but my hope is that one day, when my son is old enough to ask what his dad was like when he was young…er, he can run through these old archives and take a walk into a time machine to read about my interests, feelings, mindsets, curiosities (and maybe how cool mom and dad were 😏).
AND SO IT BEGINS!
Getting past the fear of sharing my voice was not a goal that I set for myself coming into 2023, but fortunately I stumbled upon it and this is something I am excited about. With this recent spark, I hope sharing my interests can provide a similar motivation to the people that this finds.
MY WHY
Having a why is something that feels different inside when found. I now have 2 whys, my wife and my son. There is a sense of gratitude for this that is indescribable to have these two people in my life. They make the hard times easier to persevere, and they make the good times even more special.
So, before I begin this new journey, I would like to thank you both for inspiring me every day and every minute, I can’t imagine life without you both and I am eternally grateful to have you in my life 💗
